Green Map Contest—Make Your Lexington-Fayette County a Greener Community!

Interested in contributing to a greener community?

Want to work with a team to highlight the Lexington community’s green sites and blighted areas?

Join friends and form a team to develop a Green Map of Lexington-Fayette County at your school or with your community organization!

Help promote public education! Make a greener community! Win prizes!

A number of organizations, headed the Bluegrass Partnership for a Green Community, is sponsoring a Green Map Competition and Challenge for area middle and high schools, colleges and universities, and community groups.

Teams will be invited to apply for and submit a Green Map of Lexington-Fayette County for the full competition or one of a part of Lexington-Fayette County in the challenge. Winners of the competition from the four categories (middle school, high school, colleges and universities, and community organizations) will be eligible for individual prizes in each category and for the Grand Prize. All entrants in the challenge alternative will have their entries posted on the Tracy Farmer Center for the Environment Website with the opportunity to have them linked to other sites.

The competition/challenge begins immediately. The Deadline for applying is Nov 7th 2008. Winning entries will be announced on Nov 28th 2008.
